£50 Million Deal Agreed for Dean Huijsen
Real Madrid are on the verge of completing a £50 million move for Bournemouth centre-back Dean Huijsen. Sources have confirmed that the LaLiga giants received an immediate commitment from the 20-year-old defender following their recent El Clásico defeat to Barcelona.
Although Premier League clubs had been monitoring the situation, Huijsen opted to move to Spain. The transfer will activate his release clause and is now awaiting legal finalization. He is expected to sign a five-year deal with Real Madrid.
Madrid initially proposed a player-plus-cash package to lower the overall fee, but Bournemouth rejected the idea. The Cherries had recently signed Huijsen from Juventus after his loan spell at Roma and had no interest in negotiation beyond the release clause.
A Long-Term Target Realised
Huijsen has long been on Real Madrid’s radar. The club had previously attempted to sign him during his youth academy days at Malaga, but the defender chose to develop in Italy with Juventus instead.
His rise has been rapid — culminating in a Spain national team call-up — and Madrid view him as a foundational piece for their future defensive line.
Álvaro Carreras Deal Progressing
Alongside Huijsen, Real Madrid are working to finalise a €60 million transfer for Álvaro Carreras from Benfica. The 22-year-old full-back, who previously came through Madrid’s youth system and had a stint with Manchester United, is seen as the club’s top choice for the left-back role.
Carreras is expected to sign a six-year contract, with both sides optimistic that the deal will be wrapped up in the coming days. He would arrive as part of a new era at the club, alongside incoming manager Xabi Alonso.
Trent Alexander-Arnold Still in the Frame
As previously reported, Real Madrid are also pursuing Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold. Their goal is to secure all three signings — Huijsen, Carreras, and Alexander-Arnold — before the 2025 Club World Cup, giving the squad an early boost under Alonso’s leadership.
The triple signing strategy underlines Madrid’s aggressive summer planning, with a clear focus on defensive reinforcement and long-term squad building.
