Corrections policy
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it and we say so.
Telling us about a mistake
Tell us through our contact form, giving the address of the page and what is wrong with it. If you can point us at a source, it helps. Anyone can report an error; you do not have to be the person the article is about.
What we do
We check the claim against our own sources and against the original reporting, and a factual error is corrected as soon as we have confirmed it. A correction that changes the meaning of an article is noted on the article itself, saying what was wrong and when it was put right. We do not quietly rewrite a page and pretend it always said that.
A small fix such as a spelling or a broken link is made without a note. If an article cannot be repaired, we take it down and explain why at the same address.
Right of reply
If you are named in an article and believe it is unfair or incomplete, write to us. We will read it properly and reply.
