Cristiano Ronaldo has never been shy about stating exactly where he stands. In a personal message posted to his official UR · Cristiano YouTube channel, he made his commitment to Al Nassr as clear as possible, not long after fans watched him grind through Portugal training in top form.

Since day one his commitment has been to make change not only at the club but in the country, Ronaldo says, and winning something important for the club is always the goal. He says he renewed for two more years because he believes he will be champion in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo says he had offers but they did not make sense to him, because he preferred a good rest and a good preparation for a season that ends with the World Cup. He wanted to be ready for the club and for the national team, so he played the last Nations League game and listened to nothing else.
The club is still improving, Ronaldo says, and in his view the league is already in the top five, with the last two years showing it rising all the time. People who have never played in Saudi Arabia do not understand it, he says, and the players in the league know what he means.
He says he believes in the project not for the next two years but until 2034, when Saudi Arabia hosts the World Cup, which he expects to be the most beautiful one ever. He wants to fight the best teams in the country for the league and see at the end who is better.
Ronaldo says they are not happy about last season and calls that normal for a competitive side that wants to win. But it has already passed, he says, so many things are going to change, and the focus now has to be the present.
The past is passed. Let's be positive… Let's think that this season will be our best season ever.
Ronaldo says his family have supported every decision he has taken, at Juventus, Manchester United and Real Madrid as much as in Saudi Arabia. If they are happy he is happy, he says, and they are happy there, where he says his family are treated very well.
I think we don't need to convince nobody. The life is like that. Come and see with your own eyes.
But life is a box of surprises. So we never know what's going to happen.
I can tell you right now I'm never going to be a coach. Never.
The video followed Ronaldo’s decision to extend his Al Nassr contract, first confirmed by the Saudi Pro League, keeping him at the club through 2027. It’s a short message, but it does two things at once: it thanks the fans directly, and it pushes back on the idea that his move to Saudi Arabia was ever a farewell tour.
“I believe in Al Nassr, I believe in the fans,” Ronaldo says in the video. “This season will be our best season ever… and we are going to win something very, very important.” He closes with the line that gives the video its title: “I believe in the project, I believe in Al Nassr, I believe in the fans.&
Skip the press conference, go straight to camera
What’s notable isn’t really what he says. Athletes say some version of “this is our year” constantly. It’s that he’s saying it directly into his own camera, on a channel he owns, instead of through a club press release or a reporter’s paraphrase. That’s the same channel that picked up roughly six million subscribers on its first day back in 2024, which gives a message like this a reach most contract-extension quotes never get.
It’s worth comparing this to how the same move usually gets covered: a wire story with a quote pulled from a club statement, no direct voice at all. Ronaldo cutting out that middle step is becoming the norm for top-tier athletes, and it changes how these stories get reported. Outlets like this one are increasingly working from the athlete’s own footage instead of a press office’s summary of it.
Whether Al Nassr actually delivers the trophy he’s promising is a separate question. The club has reached domestic finals under him but hasn’t broken through continentally. For now, this is Ronaldo controlling the story on his own terms, and that alone is worth paying attention to.
