🚨 Vivianne Miedema Likely Out for Rest of Season with Hamstring Injury

Vivianne Miedema’s season may be over before the final stretch even begins.

Manchester City boss Nick Cushing confirmed on Friday that the Dutch striker is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a hamstring injury during international duty with the Netherlands in their UEFA Nations League clash against Austria.

🗣️ “We’ve lost Viv… she’s positive, but it’s not looking good in the sense of being able to imminently impact any of our games,” Cushing told reporters.

Dutch head coach Andreas Jonker had already described the injury as a “major disappointment”, with little optimism for a swift return — a sentiment echoed by Cushing.

📉 A String of Setbacks

Miedema, 28, has battled injury woes over the past two seasons:

  • Torn ACL in December 2022 while at Arsenal.
  • ⚙️ Minor knee surgery in March 2024.
  • 🩺 Sidelined three months earlier this season following October knee surgery.

Just as she began finding her rhythm at City:

  • 🏆 Named Player of the Month for March.
  • ⚽️ 6 goal involvements last month, including a brace vs Chelsea in the UWCL.
  • ⚽️ Scored in the Netherlands’ game vs. Austria before pulling up injured.

Now, with only weeks remaining in the club season, Miedema shifts her focus toward rehab — and a potential late push to feature in the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euro this summer.

🗓️ Another chapter in a difficult injury journey — but Miedema remains positive, and City will be counting down the days until she’s back.
