Thomas Tuchel speaks ahead of England vs Spain at Wembley in the UEFA Nations League and explains how he wants England to become a more complete team before Euro 2028.
The England boss says every style of play has a weakness and admits defending in a deep block is “a little bit against what we want to do”, but believes England must learn how to cope when top nations force them back. Tuchel wants his side more compact, more competitive and capable of defending in both a mid block and a deep block, while still keeping the attacking strengths the players are comfortable with.
Ahead of the first England game since the World Cup, Tuchel also says the gap to the very best teams is getting “narrow and narrow” as England build towards a home Euro 2028.
