Asked for a joke after the manager called him funny, Woltemade said jokes are not as good told again later. They laugh a lot, and he thinks the manager is a really nice guy and a good gaffer.
Woltemade said he already feels at home in Newcastle, but coming back to his home country always feels good. Games he played here with his old teams did not go well, and he is excited to win tomorrow.
Asked what he has told the manager about Leverkusen, Woltemade said he thinks it will be a tough game. They had a lot of changes, including a new manager, but still have good players and want to play football.
It is cold right now, Woltemade said, but he thinks it is kind of the same as Germany, and he already feels at home. His family and friends are always with him, and he is excited for every home game.
Woltemade thinks his physical work is getting way better: he can sprint more and go into more duels. He thinks Newcastle have also given him the feeling that he can always score a goal.
“To be honest, I don't care… At the end I'm not deciding what someone is paying for me.”
Asked about his best friend moving to Newcastle with him, Woltemade said it is normal, as he is alone in a new country. Asked if he has met anyone special, he said no, he has a lot of games.
Woltemade said he just focuses on himself. He saw the chance to play in the Champions League, in the best league, in a really nice team, and he is really happy he took it.
