Luka Doncic leads NBA jersey sales for 2024-25 season

Luka Doncic became the first international player to top the NBA’s jersey sales list after his midseason move to the Lakers.

Luka Doncic had the NBA’s best-selling jersey in 2024-25, becoming the first international player to lead the annual list.

The Slovenian also became the first player other than LeBron James or Stephen Curry to finish first since Carmelo Anthony in 2012-13.

Lakers trade drives a surge in sales

Doncic moved from Dallas to the Los Angeles Lakers on 1 February 2025 and kept his familiar No. 77.

The NBA said online jersey sales rose 21 percent after the trade deadline compared with the same period a year earlier, with Doncic’s move the main reason for the increase.

Curry and James remain near the top

Curry placed second and James third. Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brunson completed the top five, followed by Victor Wembanyama.

Anthony Edwards, Ja Morant, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Nikola Jokic filled positions seven through 10. Giannis Antetokounmpo was 11th.

Four international players made the top 15, led by Doncic.

Lakers also lead team merchandise rankings

Los Angeles finished first in team merchandise sales, ahead of Boston, Golden State, New York and Chicago.

James remained the league’s most-watched player on its social and digital channels with 3.23 billion views. Curry ranked second and Doncic third, showing how quickly the trade changed both the Lakers’ business and the league’s attention.
