Northern Ireland are building something BIG for Euro 2028, with Michael O’Neill believing his young squad still has plenty of room to grow.
O’Neill highlighted just how young his Northern Ireland side remains, revealing that the team which faced France had an average age of only 22, compared with the older and more experienced teams he observed at the World Cup.
With several Northern Ireland players moving to bigger clubs and improving their situations at club level, O’Neill believes the national team is in a good place. But his message is clear: don’t put too much pressure on this generation. Give them time to grow, develop and reach their potential.
