Chris Paul starts all 82 games in his 20th NBA season

Chris Paul became the first player to start every game in a 20th NBA season as San Antonio beat Toronto.

Chris Paul became the first player to start all 82 games in his 20th NBA season as San Antonio beat Toronto 125-118.

The 39-year-old completed only the second 82-game campaign of his career, 10 years after first doing it with the Clippers.

Paul finishes the season with another complete game

Paul recorded 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals in 34 minutes against the Raptors.

He said the achievement was difficult to appreciate during the season because the schedule always turned attention toward the next game.

John Stockton held the previous longevity mark after starting all 82 games in his 19th and final season.

Six players start every game

Paul was one of six players to start all 82 during 2024-25.

He was joined by San Antonio teammate Harrison Barnes, New York’s Mikal Bridges, Minnesota’s Jaden McDaniels, Houston’s Jalen Green and Cleveland’s Jarrett Allen.

Barnes extended his streak to 304 games, while Bridges played for the 556th consecutive time since entering the NBA.

Future remains open after year 20

Paul became the 11th player to reach 20 NBA seasons. Only four had gone on to play a 21st.

He said his love for basketball remained and believed he still had more to offer.

The summer would give him time to assess his options. Whatever came next, playing every game at nearly 40 added another longevity record to one of the greatest point-guard careers.
