Renée Slegers spoke to the media ahead of the Champions League second leg, and stressed that Arsenal women’s team is treating the match as only half-time in the tie, despite taking a lead into the game, and made it clear her side is focused on executing their own plan rather than protecting a scoreline.
Slegers also gave a positive update on Leah Williamson after her return to the training pitch, discussed Arsenal’s experience of handling different game scenarios from last season’s European run, and explained why the squad’s emotional control has been one of their biggest strengths.
With Arsenal coming off an important derby win and heading into another intense London clash, the manager underlined the quality, belief, and tactical flexibility her team will need against Chelsea.
