Minnesota beat Golden State 117-110 in Game 4 and moved within one victory of the Western Conference finals.
The Warriors lost their third straight game without Stephen Curry, who remained out with a strained left hamstring.
Minnesota takes over in the third
Anthony Edwards hit a 30-foot three at the half-time buzzer, cutting Golden State’s lead to 60-58.
The Timberwolves then won the third quarter 39-17. A 17-0 run broke a 68-68 tie and pushed Minnesota’s lead to 17.
Edwards scored 16 in the period and finished with 30. Golden State missed all six of its three-point attempts during the decisive quarter.
Randle and Edwards lead the Wolves
Julius Randle scored 31 points on 11-of-21 shooting, two days after recording a triple-double in Game 3.
Jaden McDaniels added 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Minnesota made 16 of 34 three-pointers.
Edwards said he challenged his teammates at half-time after they played as though a 2-1 series advantage was enough.
Warriors cannot replace Curry’s offence
Jimmy Butler scored 14 points on nine shots after producing 33 in the previous game. Draymond Green said Butler had felt ill during the day.
Jonathan Kuminga led Golden State with 23 from the bench, but the Warriors shot 8 of 27 from deep.
Curry was due for another examination before Game 5. Green said the team would not rush him, leaving Golden State to save its season without any guarantee its star could return.
