Craig Bellamy press conference before Wales vs Norway in the Nations League: after three straight defeats, the Wales head coach says it is not unfair to ask questions. “You lose a few games in a row, you should be asked questions.” He says he didn’t recognise anything about his side in Sunday’s defeat to Denmark. Wales looked like an “in-between team”, the gap between front and back was far too big, and they ended up running more than in any other game. His answer is identity, being compact and being consistent. This is his 22nd game in charge.
Bellamy also talks about stopping Erling Haaland (“once that ball comes into the box, he’s always alive”) and how important Martin Ødegaard is to Norway.
In team news, David Brooks is the only player missing for Wales vs Norway. He explains why he rotates players who aren’t getting club minutes, says the goalkeepers’ lack of game time is a concern, and remembers the 2011 win over Norway, Gary Speed’s last game.
He also talks about Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Cardiff and explains his “it gets easier” comment after the Denmark loss. Full Craig Bellamy press conference ahead of Thursday’s Nations League game in Cardiff.
