Tottenham manager Thomas Frank spoke to the press following Spurs’ 1-0 victory over Villarreal CF in their UEFA Champions League 2025/26 opener and the message was clear: clean sheets are the new foundation.
Frank praised his side’s defensive structure, highlighting a fourth clean sheet in five matches as a key milestone in their development.
He acknowledged the attacking struggles on the night but emphasized the collective spirit, tactical discipline, and progress in off-ball work that helped edge a tight contest against a well-organized Villarreal side.
